This week's group of offerings from Creature Comforts is not for the faint of heart. Heavy rains in Central Texas have meant more bugs, which has translated into more spiders. The "Spiders in Our World" series is a celebration of that fact. I chose this first picture to serve as absolute proof that spiders are our friends! If you look closely you'll see that this arachnid is dispatching a hated "Horse Fly."
Please note: if you have extreme arachnophobia and can't log on while this series runs please let me know. I will be happy to email you some different animal pics to tide you over. You can write animalblog"at"hotmail.com or just leave a comment on this pic.

Finally you come around!! It's about time you shed light on what is perhaps the greatest conflict in the history of the planet: Insects vs. Everybody else. It's an f-in war, man! A war to control the world! If it wasn't for Spiders and their assorted allies in the struggle agains bugs, we'd be neck deep in roaches, flies, beetles, mosquitos, etc, etc, etc. When will people wake up...the balance is so delicate. As a primer on this most important of issues, so watch Storm Troopers. NOW!
Chu,
Your words are like honey in my mouth. Could it be that there has been a war going on in front of me..? One that I, even with my status as a famous web blogger, have not been introduced to? Is this what its like to be sponsored in an incredible secret society? Should I join your War Chuy? I wonder.. should I?
The answer to your question, my dear MJB, is quite obvious. If you want to live, laugh...love, you must join the struggle! Squash the Bugs!
on the spiders butt, or thorax, it looks like angry eyes and fangs but that's just decoy business, right? or is that it's meany face with crazy fangs? scawy.
