Movie Stars

The Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago is a great place to get to know our animal brothers and sisters, and its free! A lot of the animals I have featured from the zoo are also MOVIE STARS. If you recall we already met the LION KING GUYS, and of course there is the Wart Hog below who was also in THE LION KING. Here we see one of those DARK CRYSTAL BIRD THINGS. I haven't seen the movie in years, but as I recall these things were after a crystal.

Wart Hog

As you amy have noticed, i'm relying mroe and more on archival material lately. Thats because its damned cold around here and there dont seem to be too many animals out. Still I promise to bring some kick ass winter photos your way soon. Here is a Wart Hog, another star of the Lion King I believe.

A Holy Monk

I journeyed to a perilous mountain top to seek the council of this spiritually enlightened monkey. When I got there he refused to speak. At first I was disappointed and banged my walking stick against the ground. I explained the dangers I had braved simply to learn his wisdom and plead with him to take me as a student. Still, he spoke not. Eventually, after weeks of yelling, cajoling, and crying I gave up. Exhausted I sat down next to him. I began to understand....

Ripped Monkey

Look a the the definition of this Monk's biceps. I don't know if I've ever seen a burlier beast.

One of those Lion King guys

Its one of those guys that poke their heads out of the ground to great the Lion King! (Or maybe the sunshine as it unites the circle of life.) I always get a little nervous around Movie Stars but this one was really friendly and I kept my cool. It's name is Meercat, "Hakuna Matata," my friend!

Flaming, GO! (or the power of photography revisited)

Well, I like this picture. I'm sure a lot of people would have chosen a different one to be the featured flamingo pic, but this one seems to catch them all in a personal and very "true" moment. I'm sure many of my viewers don't understand just how many pictures I have of our animal friends or what a process it is to chose which ones to post. As an example I'll provide some of the runners up in the flamingo photo shoot.

Other than post this one I could have pointed out how crazy flamingo flexi-necks and grazing practices make them look like strange DINOS. Adversely, I could have shown how FRAGILE they can be with their skinny little legs. I also got the sense that Flamingos could be quite SINISTER, something I am sure you would appreciate knowing. Finally, I could have gone for the STANDARD Miami-Vice-lawn-ornament Flamingo shot. These are only a few of the thousands of photos I took of these Flamingo for you, personally, just for you.

Big Paws

I swam to the north pole to hang out with an awesome POLAR BEAR! Later on I tried to feed him a SMALL HUMAN CHILD! Click here for more.

LAY-ZEE-BRAH

Talk about falling down on the job! This guy was doing a pretty good job being a Zebra at the Lincoln Park Zoo. Then, as I was taking pictures, he sacked out right in front of me. What happened to the work ethic?!?!
