I'm not sure what this creature is that I found under a rock outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba. It looks kind of like a chipmunk, but the markings weren't right and it was much too large (even as a baby). Perhaps it was some type of prairie dog? It was cute and friendly, but what was it?

My first guess was a chipmunk, too. Are there pikas that have spots like that? In any case, it looks like an immature critter.
