Last year the pressure of posting one animal picture a day became too great, causing me to nearly lose my mind. To remedy the situation I will now post one animal photo every Sunday on Creature Comforts. If inspired I may tack on an extra post every now and then, but at least one post on Sunday will be my ultimate objective. That way we can still get the message out about the awesomeness of animals.
Above we see the beautiful feral Monk Parakeets of Austin, Texas. Also known as Quaker Parrots, colonies of these birds live in the wild in many parts of the country, including L.A., Chicago, Rhode Island and Brooklyn. In the state of Connecticut the people are so vile that they vote for Joe Lieberman and kill Monk parakeets. The feral colonies of these birds were started when pet parakeets escaped their captivity or were released by their owners.
I came across these flying monks on my daily jog in Patterson Park. The other one I caught up with in the West Campus area of the city. They are pretty birds, and they can learn to speak English!

glad you're back mjb. The chinese investors I'd lined up to finance the film production of Creature Comforts have been making things a little uncomfortable. Hope to see the screenplay draft soon, buddy.
