My travels in the North East and Midwest have yielded many snapshots of the winter life of animals. One of the first things I realized was if you want to take nature shots at this time of year it pays to look to the trees. A lot of animals are asleep or spending time down south, but many birds brave it out in the cold weather. I'm not sure what kind of bird this is. But I found her hanging out in t a snowy tree while I was shoveling out the driveway in Massachusetts. One final note, may of the following pictures will be gray and cloudy. Thats because the sun stopped shining a couple months ago and wont start again until May!
