A PHOTO "WEB LOG" OF ANIMALS I HAVE KNOWN AND SOME I HAVE LOVED.
The Power of Camoflage, Deer Edition
On my birthday we were walking in "Harm's Woods." After getting lost I realized that a deer was stalking us. He was almost invisible from behind the thick layer of brambles. Can you find the deer in this picture? I promise you he is there. For a closer shot click here.
Well played framing the deer in center shot. The deer, a.k.a. "nature's chameleon" surely would have eluded even my keenest of peepers in his maniacal game of Where's Waldo? Sometimes though, deer appear out of nowhere. In North Carolina; "Traffic accidents involving deer have nearly doubled over the past 10 years, a new study by researchers at UNC-Chapel Hill revealed." (http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/120248/) Unfortunatly, this phenomena is not contained to the Tar Heel state. My suggestion? When driving through any area even remotely near deer populations never, under any circumstance, take your hand off the horn.
Welcome to my new photo blog! I am hoping to use this outlet to explore a side of myself that many of you may not be familiar with. I am an AMATEUR NATURALIST. In the last few years I have come across many different fascinating animal species and taken some compelling photos. Please let me share my experiences with you.
