Speaking of the holidays I had a damned hectic time back East and I didn't get to see everybody I wanted to. Jesse, if there had been a way to New York on New Year's I would have taken it, as things stood I didn't even get to Northampton. Kyle, thanks for keeping tabs on me here on the website! Hopefully we can pound some beers next time I'm around. Michaels (G. and O.), I offer you the same excuse I gave Jesse. I didn't have a car and my bro didn't have a license. The situation led to a VERY BURGY CHRISTMAS. I guess the silver lining is that I did get to take some great and seasonally appropriate ANIMAL PICTURES. More to come....
But first: IT IS MY 30th BIRTHDAY! This is a real turning point for me. In the last year I have gained about 30 pounds and become UNEMPLOYED. But on the bright side I have attained internet stardom as a "Web Logger." I guess things are about even.
So for the next few days I want to take a little walk down memory lane and show you all how an amateur naturalist gets his start. This is a picture of me on one of my first research trips. Behind me are the famous Pink Flamingos of New England.
