I should point out that I identify this turtle as a "Box Turtle" in the video. I'm pretty sure that it isn't. Its just that i was so excited to be having lunch with such a big turtle I got confused. What si this, like a Galapagos turtle?

I looked up the California Desert Tortoise, but this fellow seems larger. The CDT has a carapace (lower shell) length of 15 inches. Would you say this one is larger?

Nice work determining the carapace on the CDT. Honestly, I think this one had a longer carriage. Perhaps we should bring a tape measure and some beers to the "AUZ" and figure this out for good?
